A few days in the countryside

Colza field

We decided to return to Laurent’s grandparent’s house in the town of Nieurlet for a few days. Both of us are able to work with just our laptops, so it doesn’t matter where we are as long as there is an Internet connection. We have already been to Nieurlet a few times over the past two months and it is always nice to return to the calm of the countryside. This time, however, we forgot one very vital thing, Louis’ suitcase! Upon arrival, I wanted to get out his blankies so he could have a nap, and the suitcase was not in the car! Anyone who has ever traveled with a small child knows that a small child needs an entire suitcase filled to the brim, even if it’s just for a few days. How could we have forgotten such a thing? Everything he needs is in there, especially his diapers! We had to go out to buy emergency diapers. But all will be well tomorrow. This evening, mamie handed off the suitcase to a friend of hers who lives in the region, and we will be able to pick up the suitcase tomorrow morning. Other than the suitcase incident, we have settled in for a few days of country life, and the sunshine even came with us.

(Also, on a totally unrelated note, I was very flattered that my post about Bordeaux was chosen as a WordPress Freshly Pressed posting. I had no idea what it was, but the response was overwhelmingly positive and I thank everyone for their very kind comments.)
