Sunday track meet

My in-laws are big track and field people. Back in the day, Louis’ mamie threw the discus and papy threw the javelin. Even today, they are very active with the local track and field club as trainers and organizers and even compete from time to time. This afternoon we went to watch one of the track meets in Tourcoing. Mamie was called in to throw the discus because the regulars were out, and papy helped out with the javelin competition. The meet reminded me of my high school track and field days when I was a long distance runner. I don’t run anymore, but I got a little nostalgic watching the races.
