Musée d’Histoire Naturelle à Lille

The weather continues to be very un-springlike, so we went to another museum this afternoon. We attempted to go to the Musée d’Histoire Naturelle this past Saturday, but it was closed. Today however, the doors were open. Much of the collection is over 100 years old and the museum feels like a giant cabinet of curiosities. There are dinosaur bones, skeletons of large, whale-like creatures, many taxidermy animals and birds, creepy crawlies, and slithery animals preserved in jars. Maybe someday I’ll get another polarizing filter so I have fewer reflections when I shoot things behind glass. But then again, the reflections can create an interesting element in the photo.
